My Mother's Day with BRRCH and Sunday Suppers in Brooklyn

My husband is the best. Simply put. And this Mother's Day he and Charlie gave me the opportunity to spend a warm, peaceful morning in a gorgeous space, surrounded by flowers. Not bad right?

The flower class at Sunday Suppers loft space in Brooklyn was taught by Brittany of BRRCH - a floral designer I ooh and ahh over on Instagram. I walked away with a wonderful experience, a ton of little new hints and tidbits and a beautiful arrangement I am very proud of. 

The Sunday Suppers loft is a must visit. They host Sunday dinners monthly and a whole bunch of classes and workshops so be sure to visit the site and the space. The food is divine and the scene is tranquil and inspiring.

And now, the details of Amber and Jeremy's wedding. A potting station for welcome drinks and guest finger-printing, a field full of telescopes {gifts for the bridal party but for everyone's use during the celebration}, church pews and perfect vintage rentals, handmade jams and tonics by the bride herself, amazing stationary work that included a flow map of guest activities and a photo scavenger hunt, an assortment of desserts, musical performances by friends and family, and the most authentic love. perfect.

Sometimes in this business we are lucky enough to have clients that have brilliant visions AND the ability to fully surrender their concepts to our creative minds and busy hands. What you will get in the end is an aesthetic, a vision we have helped shape and construct, and therefore one we, as designers and stylists, can fully sink our teeth into. This was exactly the case with Amber and Jeremy. 

We were introduced to this couple through the groom's sister, a designer and extremely popular blogger. We knew this one would be good because talent and ingenuity is in abundance on both sides, but we could have only dreamed that this garden wedding would have come together in the magical way that did that beautiful day in June.

Celebrating Earth Day... How We Strive to Live Green and Tips on How You Can Too...by Karma Flowers

Happy Earth Day! 

I know, not the most exciting of holidays but probably one of the most important ones when it comes to preserving our planet. At Karma Flowers and Trunk we strive to keep things as green as possible and inherently some of our preferences work in our favor. For one, we love re-purposing old furniture and we support local farming with the purchase of our fresh flowers. Now with the company, our government jobs, a two year old son and a home to maintain, we aren't perfect. We may forget to bring our re-usable bags to the grocery store occasionally and there are plenty of to-do items in the way of going green that just have not gotten done yet. But we believe that one step at a time is the way to go and so we have taken that first step and automated our contract processing. No more printing and signing contracts -everything will be done digitally and we will be helping, albeit in a small way, of reducing waste. 

Now, for those projects we would like to see done before Earth Day 2014...
