Weekend Wrap-up : MyMoon and Copake Lake Country Club

Ahhh! This weekend really felt like fall -such beautifully windy and romantic days and cool nights- my favorite. And it was only made better by the fact that we got to be in two really amazing places, celebrating two amazingly sweet couples this weekend.

We started out at MyMoon in Brooklyn with Mona and Jeff. They asked us to create fall-inspired centerpieces for their reception that we finished with gorgeous, vintage taper candlesticks and candles. Dahlias and striking purple anemones were some of our stem selections and we even included succulents, scabiosa, veronica and tons of fall foliage. Mona and Jeff were stunning! We can't wait to share pics!

Then, it was on to the Hudson Valley and a new place for us, The Copake Lake Country Club in Craryville, NY for the wedding of Veronica and Shawn. Trunk Vintage Rentals provided some of the rentals for the favor and escort table, pre-ceremony apple cider, cheese and picture table during cocktail hour, and seating during the ceremony. This bride and groom are wedding photographers and friends and the whole day was simply stunning. We will be sure to share pictures when we can as well!

While working on a photo shoot this summer, I quickly realized that I new a few of the gals involved growing up. In fact, our families are connected! What a small world. I instantly fell in love with Eileen's work and we have since used her for a wedding project.  I started Chalk It Up 2 Love in mid-2013 and one could say it is a confluence of my passions. I am an accomplished artist who has a soft spot in my heart for the old, worn, bits and pieces of life. Nothing gives me more joy than to rescue and revive an old treasure, while still preserving its elegantly aged patina. I enjoy the thrill of a Saturday morning treasure hunt, and the feeling of finding a special piece that adds uniqueness to my collection. I often times find inspiration for my works in the simplest of places. Whether it’s the adornments on a Chippendale chest, or the way gold leaf has aged and flecked off of a mirror, I see the beauty and purpose in each piece. It has helped craft a style that is elegant and chic, while still being timeless and appropriate for all occasions.

Additionally, I have a love for decorating, designing, and celebrating love and life. Together with my natural ability to hand letter, and the sense of whimsy I like to incorporate into my work, making unique, celebratory signage seems like the perfect way for me to help people celebrate the love in their lives!

A Glimpse Inside Trunk. Natalie + Daniel. Medford, NJ. June 29, 2013

While we were in New Hope two Saturdays ago, our collection of mercury glass vessels and candlesticks from Trunk were at a the Johnson's Corner Farm in Medford, NJ, for Natalie and Daniel's wedding.

The high school sweethearts wed at the childhood home of the bride.  Read a detailed description of the beautiful day in the Courier-Post.
