Real Wedding Flowers: Jennifer and Daniel, Vanessa Joy Photography, The Stonehouse at Stirling Ridge

Friday, August 1, 2014

Vanessa, of Vanessa Joy Photography, was kind enough to share a few pictures with us of Jennifer and Daniel's rustic meets chic wedding at The Stonehouse in Warren, NJ. The bouquets were made of peonies, roses, spray roses, and dusty miller and beautifully accented the bridesmaids glittery gowns. We outfitted the venue with centerpieces of peonies and garden-inspired flowers and our vintage rentals so guests could lounge and enjoy the view of the beautiful lawn. We are so happy for Jen and Dan and congratulate them on such a gorgeous wedding day.

Real Wedding: Serena and Alvin, Joie Elie Photography, Torne Valley Vineyard

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

Last fall we were lucky enough to design the florals and vintage furniture for Serena and Alvin as they married at Torne Valley Vineyard in Hillburn, NY. It was a beautiful, warm fall day perfect for walking the grounds of the rolling hills and lovely vineyard. Serena chose a mostly black and white palette for the personal flowers with pops of green and purple inside the reception tent. All of the images below were captured by Joie Elie Photography.

The couple also treated guests to a vintage cigar lounge created from our vintage furniture on the front porch of the estate. It was the perfect way for guests to relax and unwind after the dancing had been done.

Real Wedding: Ali & Art's Summer Wedding, Veronica Lola Photography, Bayonet Farms

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

It is hot out there! Not that we are complaining. And if you are tempted to complain, I will remind you of our Arctic winter. No thank you. This weather reminds me of some of our warmer weddings last summer and I realized I never blogged Veronica Lola's gorgeous pictures of Ali and Art's wedding last year.  Now we understand that there are no weddings at Bayonet Farms at the moment {maybe that will change again}but the rustic, chic color palette and details of Ali and Art's big day can translate to many different venues.

Just as a note for couples that are planning their wedding from afar... Ali and Art lived in Australia for much of the design and planning process before the wedding. There were a few local visits to the States {Art is from New Jersey so he understands cold but Ali saw the space in the dead of a brutally cold and snow-y winter but she was a good sport about it.} No matter the distance, it can be done with the right team of people behind you {us!}

Ali and Art knew they would be moving to Texas after their honeymoon so as a nod to both Australia {Ali's home and where the couple met and fell in love}, and the great State of Texas {where their lives would continue} we placed gilded kangaroos and cattle on the place settings of mixed vintage China. And guests, having traveled from all over the world, were encouraged to sign a vintage globe- we think the coolest guest book out there.

We used much of Trunk Vintage Rental's  inventory to create the lounge areas in the cocktail space, the ladder escort card display, and the cocktail bars.

It was a warm day, sure. But it was one for the fun record books too. The couple and their guests danced the night away in the beautiful barn and we are just happy to be a part of it all.

We have recently learned that Ali and Art have welcomed a little bundle of joy into their lives! We wish all the best things in the world for them and their daughter. xo.

Ali and Art's wedding was featured on A Paper Proposal and the girls' bouquets were featured on Love Inc. Magazine.

Old Meets New: Feature on The Wedding Chicks with Julie Paisley Photography

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

The Wedding Chicks have been giving us so much love lately, we thought it was about time we share a styled shoot they featured of ours a while back. We had the privilege of designing florals and rentals for a Julie Paisley Photography workshop in South Jersey. The red, purple, and yellow fall palette was so refreshing and the hanging sweetheart table our very own Dave made is divine!

Real Wedding: Unju & Jason, HollyHedge Estate, PA, June 16, 2013 {Photography by Ethan Yang Photography}

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Unju and Jason!

Ah. Unju and Jason. June 16, 2013.
HollyHedge Estate, PA
Photography by none other than the fabulous Ethan Yang Photography
{Ethan and his team are absolutely fearless and if you are lucky enough to book them for your event, you are well just completely lucky.}

Melt my heart. This bride and groom were probably one of the most thoughtful couples we worked with in terms of detail. Unju thought about and planned it, all. From the furniture rentals, to the fabric details, to the flowers, custom buttons, red heart sunglasses for the guests, the custom pink drinks in a fun wheelbarrow, the folk band for cocktail hour, the removal of the venue window treatments, the sing-along, the menus, the dress change. Ah. They did it all and pulled off a day their guests will never forget.
Us either.

Our pink settee and our farm table did make an appearance in the cocktail hour.

Unju really wanted a non-traditional fountain arrangement. If you know HollyHedge you know the fountain is the focal point of the ceremony space and it is gorgeous. We used baby's breath, roses, and peonies as the fill and topped it off with seasonal branches. If you look closely, you will also see Julie's custom gold birds hanging from the fountain. They were an extra special touch.

Unju and Jason elected to rent farm tables for their reception and it made all of the difference in the space. Similarly, we added all of the seeded eucalyptus to the chandeliers in the space, truly transforming the feeling in the room.
Their centerpieces were a curated mix of vintage boxes and vessels and the perfect accompanying candlesticks. We custom made the chalkboard table numbers and the cheese board menus.

Congrats Unju and Jason and here is to a lifetime of happiness.

Real Wedding: Winter Weddings...Kristin and Rick's December Wedding at The Liberty House

Thursday, May 22, 2014

When I met Kristin and Rick in their adorable home in New Jersey, I was instantly drawn to their laid back approach to the wedding. It was clear they wanted to have a beautiful celebration that would keep guests on the dance floor all night. With the views of NYC in the backdrop, we set out to create a sophisticated, yet uncomplicated design in the Liberty House space. One of my absolute favorite elements of the day was the combination of the sweet and soft peonies and the wintery pine and greens used in the bouquets and centerpieces. The pale pink against the more traditional holiday palette of red and green, was a complete success. And how stunning is our bride...
