www.Facebook.com/trunkvintagerentals. If you haven't, head over there and show us some love. We will provide pictures of our inventory and inspiration daily. We will also post pics of our projects. . .the pieces we have salvaged that are in need of some TLC. . . and bring you along for their restoration process.

Our Trunk Vintage Rentals  blog will be live in October but for now you can contact us directly via the Karma Flowers website. If we do not have exactly what you are looking for, we will be more than happy to do a custom search for you. Nothing makes us happier than climbing through old barns and attics of antique shops searching for the diamond in the rough.

Trunk's rental prices are based on full day rentals with delivery (and pick-up). We will currently deliver to NJ and NYC and parts of PA. Just keep in mind that distance is considered in the rental quote (unless you choose to pick them up). We accept a 50% deposit to hold the items you would like, on the date you would like them.

Karma Flowers customers (those that are using us for floral design as well) are entitled to the designing and staging of the rented pieces. If you are simply renting Trunk pieces but need some staging help, there will be a small additional fee because, well I have to get on the truck as well.

Photographers looking to rent hourly (less than 5 hours) are more than welcome to do so. Please reach out to us for specifics on half day rentals.

Check back tomorrow for some of our furniture pieces.

My New Favorite Thing. Ana Candles. by Karma Flowers

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

So we spent last week in Sea Isle as we do every year, and happened to stop in a home decor store in Stone Harbor that had these AMAZING taper candles by Ana Candles. I instantly fell in love with the stripes {it's screams carnival to me and I adore anything vintage carnival-ish} and the colors and color combinations are fantastic.

They are perfectly suited for a intimate dinner party but would work equally as well in a larger tablescape for a wedding. Done right, they could easily be the focal point of table design and therefore easy{ier} on the budget then perhaps flowers that would provide the same color impact. {And with a 14 hour burn time they will certainly last through your whole event!}

The store only had the color combination I loved on display so I had to wait to get home to order them here, which was a treat because I was introduced to even more splendid colors.

One of the best things about my new discovery is that Ana Candles are made right here in Trenton, NJ. Who would have thought? {I am obviously a lover of anything local.}

I purchased these for my dining room but already have the amber ones in mind for our sitting room. Yay!

Art Imitating Life. Incorporating Art Into Your Space and Celebration. by Karma Flowers

Monday, August 6, 2012

ahh. This couldn't be more true! A weekend at the beach did my heart some good, and this print from Society6 has an immediate calming effect on me as well. In fact, so many of the art prints on Society6 speak to me. And what a great way to add an additional emotional element to your space or to your party?

Abyss of the Disheartened

Emergency Door
Circus

How about framed in vintage wood and placed throughout your celebration? On tables, by the guest book, on the backs of chairs. . .Most prints are under $20 and can easily transition into your humble abode after all the confetti is thrown.

Adventure Island

and my favorite. . .

Little Spoon

Are there prints on Society6 that move you? Share with us! We would love to hear {or see}.

When Skies are Gray...Color, Emotion and Design. by Karma Flowers

Thursday, August 2, 2012

 We all have sad days. It couldn't be more true for me this week. I try to ride the wave though, live in the moment, learn the lesson {there is always a lesson}, and draw inspiration from it.

So as I thought about writing this blog post about how I was truly, temporarily feeling, it became an exercise of expression. It was healthy and distracted me, for a bit at least, at what was making me so sad. How would my sadness look? How would it tactically feel? or move? or smell? What flashed in my thoughts over and over again was the color gray. So I went with it. And I discovered something I think I already knew, the color gray is beautiful and calming and serene. Clean and sophisticated and dependable. And it moves me. . .

I don't recommend designing much of anything permanent around a color that represents your sullen emotions, but you should surely dig a little deeper than your favorite Pinterest board to find out what colors evoke feeling in your world. Whether it's a dress for a celebration {especially one you will be photographed in}, a flower in your wedding bouquet or a chair in your favorite room. . .make sure it says something about you  to you.
