Charlie's Pick: Our Pinterest Contest Announcement

We’ll let you in on a little secret.  Trunk Vintage Rentals has tons of new furniture and accessories uploaded on Pinterest.  Repin your favorite pieces in our collection to your inspiration boards and you could win a free one day rental! 

Our rentals are perfect for weddings, dinner parties, photo shoots, holiday pictures, and retail decor.

All you have to do is repin what you love and like us on 

Facebook. How easy is that?  Each time you repin one of our pieces, your name will be put in a mason jar {that's right, you get an entry for every piece you pin!} On {June 17th} our son, Charlie will hand pick the winners. 

Each winner will receive one full day rental to be used by December 31^st, 2013.  

Delivery is not included. Contest is good for all new rental contracts and can not be applied to current contracts. Rental availability is subject to current contracts for each piece. Must be in the NJ, NY, PA area to win.

How to Use Vintage Pieces in Your Outdoor Event

Making an event unique is all about the little details.  Everything from velvet sofas to wicker chairs and mason jars to dishes can be combined to create a custom look for your event. 

With the summer months ahead, event planners take advantage of the warmth and schedule their events to take place outdoors.  Some of the most beautifully unique events are those that bring the indoors out. 

Incorporating vintage furniture warms up the outdoor space and creates a cozy feel.  Furniture also provides functionality for the space.  Outdoor spaces are beautiful, and added vintage pieces make the serenity of nature that much more comfortable.

One of the easiest ways to incorporate vintage furniture into your creative vision is with seating.  Instead of using typical white wooden chairs around your dining tables, consider using a wicker bench or aqua colored wooden chairs.  If it’s a wedding that you’re planning, consider using vintage church pews for guests to sit in during your outdoor ceremony.  Their worn edges will add a sense of charm to your special day.

Among the bigger furniture pieces are the smaller vintage details that can be used to highlight your personality.  Think about using vintage trunks to display photos in vintage frames of you and your fiancé traveling during your dating years.  Display an assortment of vases and multicolor jars with floral arrangements to add punches of color throughout the space.

The combinations are endless.  Any creative vision can be successfully achieved with the right pieces and accents.

A 40th Birthday in Brooklyn, Jalopy Theater

At the beginning of December we were asked to help out with a pretty cool 40th Birthday Party at the Jalopy Theater in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Jon's wife, Cindy, invited 90 of his closest friends to come and celebrate Jon in a very personal way...his bands from high school and college reunited to preform for the fist time in years and Jon even joined them. There were other acts including a banjo performance and a poem reading,and it was a beautiful tribute to a man that obviously is very much loved and adored by his friends and family. 

Cindy asked us to create the signature drink station which we did using our oak barrel table and vintage vessels. It functioned as a Bourbon tasting station and Prosecco-making headquarters for the night. Cindy also asked us to do something creative with Jon's old band posters which were blown-up and hung in creative art displays on the brick walls and accented with string lights.  Rather than a traditional cake, doughnuts from Doughboy Bake Shop in Brooklyn hit the spot at the end of the night! I think I ended up eating three of them. {That is all I have to say about that.} We used a few of our smaller tables and serving materials to create the dessert station and all was accented by the always-appropriate-at-a-Brooklyn-party over-sized number balloons and the creepy statue provided by the Jalopy Theater. That's a party folks. And a fun one at that!

The Jalopy Theater has done a ton in the way of supporting Red Hook and helping it get back on its feet after Hurricane Sandy. If you are in the area, please support this wonderful theater/bar/restaurant that has done so much for its community. These businesses deserve the patronage.

Nothing makes us happier than climbing through old barns and attics of antique shops searching for the diamond in the rough.

Trunk's rental prices are based on full day rentals with delivery (and pick-up). We will currently deliver to NJ and NYC and parts of PA. Just keep in mind that distance is considered in the rental quote (unless you choose to pick them up). We accept a 50% deposit to hold the items you would like, on the date you would like them. 

Karma Flowers customers (those that are using us for floral design as well) are entitled to the designing and staging of the rented pieces. If you are simply renting Trunk pieces but need some staging help, there will be a small additional fee because, well I have to get on the truck as well.

Photographers looking to rent hourly (less than 5 hours) are more than welcome to do so. Please reach out to us for specifics on half day rentals.
