A Behind the Scenes Look. Jackie + Steve. Raritan Inn. June 22, 2013.

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

We set out on a beautiful Saturday morning to work on Jackie and Steve's rustic summer wedding at Raritan Inn in Califon, NJ.

Tables at the reception were lined with seeded eucalyptus garland and decorated with peony centerpieces in vintage glass bottles.

There was a cool vintage photo booth for guests to capture the moment.

Some centerpieces had variations of coral and white roses, oregano, and lavender.

Jackie and Steve shared their first dance beneath strings of lights under the white tent.
Congratulations you two!

Practical Shoes for Event Industry Peeps by the Karma Team, Part 4

Stephanie's up...

My favorite shoes for every event are my dandelion yellow flats by Kimchi Blue I got from Urban Outfitters last winter.    I love the way the ribbon ties throw a spin on the classic pointed flat.  I love things that are simple but also unique.  They're super comfy and leave my feet blissfully blister-less too!  They're perfect for work and for play.

xo,

Stephanie

Gillian's up...

I love my Adrienne Vittadinis! My black peep-toes with bows are comfy and can sweeten up any outfit. Bonus? They've aged well!

Gillian

Julie is next...

Shoes, shoes, shoes. They can be a girl’s best friend and on occasion, her worst enemy. Whether you are on your feet constantly for work, or are traipsing around the city for a day, we all know that comfortable and cute footwear is essential.  Ending up with blisters can straight up ruin your day.  As someone who is prone to jacked-up lollies (almost all shoes rip up my feet, I am never without band aids), I am happy to say that I have found a friend in Toms shoes.  For me, they combine just the right amount of support while also maintaining that “barefoot” feeling.  And never, ever, EVER have they given me blisters!!!  And after a long install in the summer sun it is great to be able to throw those puppies right in the washing machine.  ; )

I’m digging the lace Toms this summer. They are pretty, feminine, and hella ventilated. If you don’t already have a pair, be sure to give ‘em a try, they won’t disappoint.

Julie

Yes floral and event artists need good shears and scissors and just the right flowers to hang with the correct amount of wires and zip ties, but what we really need on install days are GOOD SHOES. Standing on our feet the night before an event prepping and packing and then sometimes all day for installs and breakdowns calls for some comfy, yet supportive shoes. After vases and vessels are filled and placed and there are endless runs to the truck and multiple trips up and down ladders...our dogs are barking!

My pick for practical, yet down-right-cute shoes, are the sneaks from Bucketfeet. My mom purchased my first pair and I was an immediate fan.

Artist's design and create each pair of these rubber-soled gems and they have massage bubble inserts to keep your feet feeling fine throughout the day. Check out their site, it is worth a look!

A Behind the Scenes Look. Unju and Jason's Wedding. Holly Hedge Estate, June 16, 2013.

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Last weekend the Karma team was surrounded by peonies and eucalyptus as we prepared for Unju and Jason's wedding at Holly Hedge Estate in New Hope, Pennsylvania.

The bride's bouquet was filled with bright peonies, soft garden roses, and sprinkles of chamomile.  The bridesmaid's bouquets were composed of softer colored dahlias and garden roses.

Each boutonniere was delicately handcrafted with fragrant lavender.

We decorated the estate's fountain with peonies, branches, and gold clay sculpted birds.  We created a luscious garland and decorated it with an arrangement of both light and bright peonies.

Each table in the reception area was decorated with vintage crocheted doilies, eclectic candle sticks, and apothecary bottles filled with delicious flowers.

Our talented team members hand embroidered cloth napkins for the bride and groom and hand painted the menus on wooden cheese boards.  Each chandelier was covered with eucalyptus and hung naturally above the reception area.

We can not wait to see the photographs from Ethan Yang Photography. Wishing all the best to Unju and Jason!!!!

Ah, I loved this wedding. Mostly because I love the people getting married but the decor turned out pretty awesome too! Here is to Lauren and Tim's first year of martial bliss and to a million more!

A Behind the Scenes Look. Jess and Josh. The Liberty House, June 1, 2013 by Karma

Thursday, June 13, 2013

Have you ever wondered what it's really like behind the scenes at a event design company?  Here at Karma, we spend our days using all of our artistic energy to make our client's creative visions come alive.  There is no hour too late and no vase too heavy to lift.  But the long hours and months of designing always pay off.

In the last few days of May, we put all of our creative energy into Jess and Josh's June 1, 2013, wedding at The Liberty House.  We secured a lush garland along the metal beams around the ceiling. We used mock orange branches to make oversized, tree-like arrangements that were placed on every farm table.  {Never before have we plucked so many leaves from branches!} Tables were accented with arrangements of white hydrangea and china mums.  Every boutonniere and bouquet was carefully hand designed and executed by our talented team.  We can not wait to share some of the professional pictures by Jason Gardener Photography

For now get a behind the scenes look at all of our hard {and fun!} work with our own Instagram pics...
